About Kantaris

Kantaris Media Player aims to be an all-in-one media player that provides a great audio and video experience. Kantaris is an open-source alternative to Windows Media Player with similar GUI and features. Video playback is based upon Videolan Client (VLC) which enables Kantaris to play almost anything without the need of installing any codecs separately. It features an attractive skin, some nice audio visualizations, and integration with Last.fm and Apple movies trailers. Click here for screenshots.

About Developer

The media player is currently being developed by a company which name is also Kantaris. Visit company website here. The company office is located in Guiyang, China and currently we are 4 developers working the media player among other projects. Below is a short introduction of each of developer.

Christofer Persson

Owner of the new Kantaris company. Used to be sole developer of Kantaris Media Player before the company was started. Much of the work was done while he was a computer science student at Lund University, Sweden. He’s also the founder of a successful PSP news site which later was turned into pspupdates.com.
